Dr. Glen Burkett
Dr. Glen Burkett received his Bachelor of
Veterinary Science degree from Massey University, New Zealand in
1990. After spending several years in general practice in
England and Australia, he decided to pursue a specialty degree in
dermatology. He completed his residency in dermatology at the
University of Tennessee in 1996 and became a Diplomate of the
American College of Veterinary Dermatology later that year.
Dr. Burkett has been in dermatology practice in Florida since 1997.
He has been published in several veterinary journals and textbooks.
Dr. Burkett regularly gives continuing education presentations to
veterinarians and staff. Each year he helps to sponsor the
Tri-County Veterinary Meeting, which provides continuing education
seminars for veterinarians and staff in southwest Florida on a wide
range of subjects.
Dr. Leigh Burkett
Dr. Leigh Burkett received her Bachelor of
Science in biology from Wake Forest University in 1991 and her
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of
Tennessee in 1995. She began her career in dermatology as a
technician for a specialist in 1992. Upon graduation from veterinary
school, she spent six years in private veterinary practice in New
Jersey and Florida. In 2001, Dr. Leigh decided to dedicate her
time to the dermatology practice and family. She routinely
attends continuing education seminars to stay abreast of current
developments in the field of veterinary dermatology and practice
management.
